Eagles are large and powerful birds of prey, theatest
species being the Imperial Eagle, or. Harpy, a
Central-America, which measures three feet and a half
from the tip of its beak to the end of its tail. The Golden
Eagle is the next in size and is a handsome creature.
Among the ancients the Eagle was held sacred to Jupiter
and was placed on the sceptre.
To-day it is used as the
symbol
of nations,
dominion.
