"Keene's Most Historic House"
Built in 1762 this typical colonial homestead
for many years was a leading New Hampshire
Tavern. Its significance in history was in pro-
Ividing the meeting place for the organization of
Dartmouth College in 1770 and a key rallying
point for the area Minutemen in 1775. It is now
appropriately maintained by the Historical
Society of Cheshire County.
