Sentinel Pine Bridge AT THE POOL FRANCONIA NOTCH, WHITE MTS., N.H. The Pool, a granite basin, a geological pot-hole, of water almost black because of its depth (40 ft.) Above the Pool on the rocky side of the mountain rises the Sentinel Pine, estimated to be 175 ft. in height. It is one of the largest in the State and considered to be over 175 years old.
