Spencer Tracy (MGM)
Born: Milwaukee, Wisconsin, April 5th.
Education: Milwaukee and Kansas City Ripon
College, Wisconsin.
Hobby: Polo.
Spencer Tracy went straight from college to the
American Academy of Dramatic Art in New York.
Got a small role in the Theatre Guild production,
"R.U.R." Then joined stock company. Made his
first Broadway hit in "Yellow," followed by
"Baby Cyclone," "Dread," "Conflict," and "The
Last Mile." The latter play won him a Hollywood
contract, and he made his screen debut in 1930.
Won the Academy Award for 1937 for his perform-
ance in "Captains Courageous," and again for
1938 with "Boys Town." His latest pictures have
