This 8-lane bridge is believed to be the widest
bridge on the Continent (103 ft.) outside of New
York. It was completed in 1954 at a cost of
$12,000,000 exclusive of land purchases. It has a
vertical clearance of 90 ft. over the navigable
channel of False Creek.
