PORTLAND HEAD. Few finer examples of sea-
worn cliffs and headlands exist than may be reached by a
three-mile trolley ride from Portland. The shores are lined
with villas and cottages, all looking seaward toward that
ever-changing panorama which the Atlantic presents. The
steamer is entering the ship channel which leads to Portland
Harbor between the Cape shore and the equally summer-
populated islands of Casco Bay. 187.
