The bird design in this folder is
a miniature reproduction of one of
the famous Audubon engravings
published in 1838. At that time
the price was $1,000 for the com-
plete set of four hundred and
thirty-five plates. Today a com-
plete set is priceless.
John James Audubon spent
practically his entire life journey-
ing through the frontiers of Ameri-
ca painting game and songbirds
in their natural surroundings.
The name and fame of Ameri-
ca's first naturalist is honored and
perpetuated through the Audu-
bon Society and its untiring efforts
to foster and protect bird life in
this country.
