Oak Island, Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia. It is believed that the notorious pirate Captain Kidd buried a vast treasure on that island, and since 1795 countless adventurers and many well financed companies have sought to wrestle this great treasure from the "Money Pit", as it came to be called. Early attempts reached a depth of 96 feet when suddenly water rushed in flooding the "Pit". Many have died in the attempt. All have agreed that the designer of the "Pit" was a genius, for despite all attempts with today's sophisticated equipment, the treasure still remains hidden. More money has been spent here than on any other treasure hunt in the world. Mirro-Krome H.S. Crocker Co., Inc. San Bruno, Calif. 94066.
