EL CAMPO
MARIN COUNTY, CA
Back:
El Campo picnic ground, near where Paradise County Park
is today, could only be reached via a ferry operated by the
railroad. As many as 1,500 picnickers would line up to board
the ferry in San Francisco, and railroad security made sure
that only "nice people" boarded. The cove at El Campo
would also fill up with pleasure boats of all sizes on weekends.
