John Balch migrated from England to
America in 1623. One of the "Old Planters
BERLY,
who came from Gloucester to Salemin 4626
he was given a grant of land at Bass River
(then Salem, now Beverly), where he built
this house in 1638. Visitors welcomed daily
(10 o'clock to 4 P. M.) except Sundays and
Holidays: June 10- Sephis.
