| The Rock Island Arsenal Reservoir was completed in 1871. Circular in shape, it is 86 feet in diameter at the top and 97 feet at the floor grade. The overall height is 68 feet to the top of the ventilator cupola. The walls are of stone and are 3 feet 8 inches thick at the top and 7 feet 10 inches thick at the base. The capacity is 800,000 gallons. It is still in use today. |
