Say, for instance, that you have been the razzle-
dazzle of a Fourth of July party, and your girl friend
(whose boy friend you have taken away from her) has
taken a violent aversion to you. By this time it has
become a real Red, White and Blue event, as you see
red, your girl friend is blue, and you're both white with
rage. Etiquette says that this certainly is not the time
to jab her in the ear with an entree fork, because she
may construe it to mean that you think she is a ham,
then the fat will be in the fire! You must conceal
any animosity you have before the other guests, and
remember that hair pulling and eye-scratching are
definitely reserved for the powder room.
