In the year 1863, the Yates, family constructed a
wooden dam across the Clinton River and began
operation of this Cider Mill. The original turbine
water wheel and machinery are still being used
today. The original building was replaced by the
present structure in 1894. Adjoining the mill property
is the historical Clinton Kalama Barge Canal.
